Some background material will be presented by Friday Room regulars, followed by our usual lively and friendly discussion. All are welcome!

It is not just a civil war; other countries, including the UK, have agendas.  What is ours? and what should it be?

One Response to The Conflict in Syria

  1. The Covenanters in the 17th century are the example of a Christian guerilla movement.that I was trying to remember. The movement started in 1557 to maintain the Presbyterian doctrine and policy as the sole form of religion of their country. It opposed attempts by the governing powers to impose Roman Catholicism and later other Episcopalian doctrine.
It seems that there was spasmodic conventionally nasty religious warfare which in about about 1668 became more guerilla like and got even more nasty on both sides.
Like the Jihardists, the Covenanters were totally convinced that they alone followed God’s Word and spurned idea of negotiation or compromise.
