What can we agree on?

agreeAppealing to the average voter or “Reframing the Narrative” or “drawing a line”

Can we formulate a consensus that the majority of people would, at least, go along with.
To do this I think it should, as far as possible, avoid any language or terminology that has become identified with any specific political movement or theory. Ideologies and utopian dreams should be put on one side in favour of just doing things a little better and surviving the best we can. Evolution rather than revolution?

Can we evolve a recipe for better government? What about the following:

Increase fairness.
By reducing corruption and inequality.

Accepting that resources are limited
Economic policy should be geared towards sustainability
“Create a better life using less stuff”

Better governance
See Proper Governance

Better markets
Markets are a very useful human invention but, like all human inventions, sometimes they work well and sometimes they don’t. A particular market is defined by a particular set of rules. Rules are not immutable and if the market does not work, then they can be modified.

Better democracy
Democracy a very useful human invention but, like all human inventions, sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn’t
